Report: Yankees Close To Acquiring Zach Britton

The Yankees are reportedly closing in on a deal that would bring RP Zach Britton to the Bronx to fortify a bullpen that is already strong.

According to Jon Heyman of FanCred, the Yankees are closing in on a deal that would send Orioles closer Zach Britton to the Bronx in exchange for a package that would be centered around pitching prospect, Dillon Tate.

The Yankees have been needing another left-hander to come out of there pen for a while now and Britton could solve all of their concerns, especially with Aroldis Chapman’s health being in question.

Britton could potentially take the role as New York’s closer depending on the severity of Chapman’s tendinitis and how often he will be able to pitch without having to go on a DL stint.

UNHINGED X CHAMPION

Yankee fans should be familiar with the left-hander based on his time with the Baltimore Orioles and the tremendous amount of success he has had throughout his career. As long as the Yankees do not give up too much, this could be a great deal for New York.

Like all deals, nothing is set in stone until the paperwork and medicals are all cleared, but as of now a deal certainly seems like it is more than likely to happen.
